Very happy to share the news that Ringling College of Art + Design has appointed me as full-time Visiting Faculty in Film, beginning Fall 2018.
This is a very exciting opportunity, as Ringling’s Film department has been ranked #16 in The Hollywood Reporter‘s latest scorecard of American film schools, and Film Head Brad Battersby was recently named by Variety as “mentor of the year.” Visiting artists to the program have included writer/director Kevin Smith (Clerks), actor Justin Long (dozens of screen credits), actress Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), actor Dylan McDermott (dozens of screen credits), cinematographer Wally Pfister (Inception) and many more. (Just FYI, Ringling’s Computer Animation department ranks #2 in the country!)
This appointment is going to mean a pretty crazy academic year ahead, as I’ll be splitting time between New Mexico and Florida. (Hello, Delta!) But what’s life without a little adventure?
Meanwhile… We’re still forging ahead on moving my feature film screenplay 2-WAY into pre-production before the end of the year. (You’ve liked the film’s Facebook page, right?)
A couple of other feature film projects are currently in the fundraising and (possibly) pre-sale phase: one to shoot in New Mexico, the other to shoot (primarily) in California. For the next 6+ weeks, I focus on writing. So barring the unexpected, it should be radio silence here for awhile…
