If you’re sheltering in place, I hope you’ll give it a listen — you’ll get the latest update on 2-WAY‘s financing and progress towards pre-production. If you’ve got even more time on your hands, go binge-listen to The Dungball Express.
It’s probably appropriate that a post about the new year gets published January 31, when the year’s already well underway. (You can see I spend a little time at Albuquerque’s Sunport: here’s a shot just before dawn one Monday morning.) So here’s the professional update:
My feature film 2-WAY‘s in the midst of its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out already, there’s never been a better time. 2-WAY is 100% independently financed, and while the Indiegogo is just one of our revenue streams, it’s a crucial one. We need your support to make this film happen.
Wanna know more about the script I’ve written and am now producing? Head to our Indiegogo campaign. We’ve got lots of fun and unique perks attached to contribution levels. All contributions — no matter the amount — are tremendously appreciated. Contributions will open the door to a day on the set, the chance to be a background extra, breakfast with the producers, your name in the credits, a romantic weekend in Santa Fe or Mesilla, and much more.
People often ask me: “Why don’t they make movies they way they used to?” Well, the answer is complicated and multi-faceted — but if you’re looking for a film about the human heart, one that eschews guns, violence, spaceships and superheroes … then 2-WAY is your film. Now we really need your support.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter if you haven’t already — every like and follow helps us raise the funds for production.
If you missed the live broadcasts of either of my appearances this week on Las Cruces area radio, fear not!
Listen to a very in-depth interview with 2-WAY co-producer Claudio Ruben and myself conducted by “Speak Up Las Cruces” host Peter Goodman. Originally broadcast June 20, 2019 on Radio Que Tal, KTAL 101.5FM.
And if that’s not enough, listen to a terrific interview with both of us conducted by “PUENTES a la comunidad” host Emily Guerra. Originally broadcast June 22, 2019 on KRWG 90.7 FM.
Both radio interviews will sneak-peek 2-WAY‘s big announcement for June 24. And if you haven’t already, please follow the film on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram!
I’ll be making the rounds of Las Cruces broadcast radio this week, on behalf of my feature film 2-WAY, which I’ve written and am now co-producing with Claudio Ruben of Red Dzambhala Films.
This week’s radio waves tour includes stops at Radio Que Tal, as we spend time with host Peter Goodman on his show “Speak Up, Las Cruces”. Airtime is 9am MDT Wednesday (6/20) on 101.5FM — but you can stream it live here. The segment was pre-recorded, and we’re told we’re coming in at around 45 minutes. It was quite a free-ranging discussion, but it’ll be the first unveiling of our next steps with the film (so kinda exciting!). I hope you can live-stream the show.
Thanks so much to all of you who have already liked our 2-WAY Facebook page; it’s really appreciated! (And if you haven’t yet, this is the perfect time to click on the link and like/follow the page — or you can always search for @2waythemovie in Facebook, and find us.)
Dozens of likes can move us into hundreds of likes which can ultimately move us to thousands of likes. And this is actually really important, as it helps us in lining up territorial pre-sales, product placement, and crowdfunding (it’s 2018, and social media performance helps with everything). This is what independent feature films have to do to gain traction in a very crowded marketplace.
In the meantime, if you also have an Instagram account, we’d love to have you follow us there as well: again, you can search for @2waythemovie — or click on this handy link. While content will overlap between our Facebook&Twitter feeds and our Instagram feed, you’ll definitely find some unique content on Instagram, since we’re trying to communicate solely using perfectly square imagery. 🙂
I’ve kept a very low profile online this past year, partly because I’ve still been employed full-time as a screenwriting professor at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and partly because I’ve been working on several new projects that will gradually begin seeing the light of day in the months ahead.
Thus, I’m very excited to publicly unveil 2-WAY, a feature film screenplay of mine that I’m also exec-producing. As is usually the case these days, my partners and I will be documenting the development, pre-production and production journey of 2-WAY via the Web and social media, and we would love you to share the journey!
